Cousin Love

Maria and Wesley both love their cousin Annalise. Anytime we can have a play date with her they both are trying to get her attention. It is not a common occurrence for just Wesley and Annalise get to play alone. They are only a couple of weeks apart and play very well together. Maria was in dance camp a couple of weeks ago so Barbara and I took Wesley and Annalise to the park. They were so cute together! Annalise usually likes to stay close to Barbara but Wesley was able to get her to be a little adventurous and she was climbing on the playground and going down the slide. It was great. Maria loved her dance camp!!!  At the end of the week they had a little recital for the parents. I made a video of her dancing and will post it. The week after dance camp, Maria went to Vacation Bible School. She also had a blast! They were learning about service to the community, neighbors, family, friends and Jesus. She helped pick up garbage around the neighborhood. She also helped make cards for the homeless that get food from the church. Then one day they made cookies and took them to the local firefighters. She was very proud of all things that she was able to do to serve others. Maria has such a loving kind heart. Wesley was not able to do any camps because he is not 3 years old yet. He had a blast hanging out with me. We went to the park, library, pool and of course he loved shopping with me to buy stuff for his birthday party that is next week.  Wesley has learned to swim. I can't believe how quickly he picked it up. He can jump in, turn himself around and swim to the wall. He has really good form kicking his legs and reaching with his arms. I'm just so impressed!
Maria and Wesley started back to preschool this week. It has been different for me since Maria is in pre-k class she goes 4 days a week. I was not ready for both of my kid's to go 4 days a week so Wesley is only going 2. They both enjoyed there week back. Maria is the oldest in her class and actually the oldest kid in the school. I'm told by all the teachers that she is a leader. Wesley is the second youngest in his class. His teacher told me that she can tell he is a mama's boy because he still wants to be held and snuggle. Wesley is very happy to be back playing with his best friend Owen. Even though it was nice hanging out with mommy all summer he was ready for his friends.
I can't believe summer break is over. My children are growing up too fast. I'm so blessed that I get to spend so much time with them.
