picture overload #2

The day after thanksgiving we went to Washington DC for a three day weekend. The first day we were there it was 75 degrees.  We went to the National Zoo. I had never been there. It's not as nice as the NC Zoo but the nice thing is that the animals are much closer to each other. The bears were my favorite part. The 2 bears in the trees were play fighting with each other. At one point one of the bears was biting the other bears tail and hanging from it. Another bear not pictured was banging on a door to get out. The kid's enjoyed getting to see the monuments. Maria's favorite museum was the National Art and Wesley's was the Air and Space. It was really the perfect time to go because there were not a lot of people in town. We ended the weekend by going to the mall. We had to go to the American Girl Doll store according to Maria. :) It was the perfect weekend!

Maria was chosen to help with a demonstration of the international space station.

Wesley's favorite animals are penguins

Proud Mama

Maria worked really hard in November to memorize 100 spelling words. A couple of weeks ago she won her class spelling bee. At the end of January she will compete in her school spelling bee. She will be going against 1st-5th graders. Sebastian and I are so proud of her. She worked so hard and was able to accomplish her goal.

picture overload

I know that this is quite a few pictures. These pictures are from Christmas Eve with my in-laws and then Christmas Day with my family. It was such a nice relaxing Christmas. The kids got WAY too much! This year was so much fun because both kids really know what Christmas is about. Maria wrote the sweetest card to me for Christmas that she knew that Christmas was not about the presents but about Jesus and spending time with family. Maria is such a sweet kind hearted girl. Wesley would wake up every day for the last couple of weeks and tell me what day it was and how many days until Christmas. You can't tell Wesley about buying gifts for others because he is unable to keep any secrets. Both kid's were in a Christmas play at church. Maria has a narrator part. She remembered all her lines and did a great job on stage. Wesley played an oxen. He had to start moving around when the song Little Drummer boy sang the line "the ox and lamb kept time." We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2016!

My brother got engaged to his girlfriend Alisha! We are going to be celebrating a new marriage next year!
