Meeting Hattie

I drove Maria to my sister's house in Washington, NC today so that the kid's could meet their newest cousin. I knew that Maria could not wait to hold Hattie but was surprised that Wesley wanted to hold her. They both were so cute around Hattie. They were rubbing her back and her head. Maria lover her soft hair. Hattie was awake most of the time we were there and she was looking around. You could tell that she was listening when the kid's were talking. Can't wait to see you again soon Hattie!

 

Soccer

I never thought I would be going to so many soccer games. Wesley's soccer league had family night at the Railhawks game. Wesley was chosen to be a bench warmer and was able to sit on the field while the team warmed up. He was so excited and is usually shy going off by himself but he did great!

Happy Birthday Barbara!

This is from a couple of weeks ago that we celebrated my mother-in-laws birthday. The kid's had a good time playing together. They were running around the house screaming and it sure was loud! This was our first family dinner that we didn't have anymore high chairs. They were all so cute sitting at the picnic table. I didn't get many pictures of Shiar because she ran away every time I tried to take a picture of her. The first two pictures are of Wesley's first day of preschool. He is at a new preschool this year and is doing so well. It is amazing how much he had grown and changed this year. He is thriving and its also nice because his cousin's Annalise and Shiar also attend the same preschool so he is able to seem them much more than he has in the past. Maria is also thriving in school. She is learning to read. We just started having homework and so far she enjoys doing it with us. We have only received good reports from her teacher. Maria decided she wanted to dance again. She started tap and ballet class again last week. We have had a really nice busy summer. I'm looking forward to the fall and hopefully we won't be as busy and we were in the summer.

Beach!

We spent the week at the beach with my in-laws. It was the most relaxing vacation ever! The house had a pool and the beach was also so close. The kid's were little fishes the entire week. Maria has been swimming really well this summer and Wesley has also been swimming on his own. We would usually start in the pool as soon as the kid's woke up. Usually by 8am. Then we would pop over to the beach then back to the pool. Maria was loving being in the ocean. There was a sand bar close to the shore and it blocked the waves so the ocean was calm to swim in. Maria was so cute trying to body surf. By the end of the week even Wesley was in the ocean trying to body surf. We had a couple of the kid's friends come down for a couple of days. They had so much fun together. There was an outdoor shower and I think Maria took 2-3 showers a day. You could hear her and her friend Alana in the shower singing and there 4 little feet dancing all around.  My children are growing up so fast! I'm so glad that we were able to spend the week together....no work, no school, no chores....just us family getting to be together. It was one of the best vacations I've ever had!
