For the 4th we had my in-laws and some friends over. We actually started the day with the kid's riding their scooters in a neighborhood parade. There was a fire truck that led the way. Afterwards the kids got to eat popsicles. They have 2 new best friends in the neighborhood. They have really enjoyed being able to have friends to play with that are so close. We had BBQ sandwiches and homemade peach ice cream. This was the first time we have had non-family over to our house. The kid's enjoyed showing off their rooms and the back yard. Maria and her friend Kayla had a fashion show for us with her different dress-up costumes. Wesley did not care that it was all girls. He still had fun. After dinner we went to see some local fire works. The fire works show was pretty good. I brought chalk, bubbles and glow sticks to help pass the time before the fire works. I can't believe how fast summer is going. On the 5th we went as a family to the park in our neighborhood. Wesley was running and tripped and hit his head on the picnic table. He had a nice size gash that was bleeding quite a bit. We ended up having to take him to the emergency room because all doctor's office were closed. He had to get 5 stiches. He was such a brave boy. While having the stiches put in he just kept his eye's closed and did not cry at all. All he said was, "is it almost done." The gash was right in the middle of his forehead. He is doing fine now and besides the stiches in his head you would never know he had been hurt. Maria started kindergarten today. I can't believe it is already time for that! We are able to walk to school, which is so nice. The car pool line is very long! Maria did great! She walked right into her class and sat down and didn't even mind that we left. I cried a few tears on the way home. I'm just going to miss her during the day. Yesterday she got her hair cut. She got 10 inches cut off and today I mailed it to Locks Of Love where they help make wigs for people who have medical reason's for losing their hair. I was very proud of her. She looks adorable and so grown up! I hope you are all having an enjoyable summer so far.
