Christmas

The pictures didn't upload right and are a little mixed up.

Christmas

Christmas was so much fun this year! Maria has been talking about "Jesus's Birthday" for the last couple of weeks. She loved opening all of her presents. Actually on Christmas Eve she opened everyone's presents. Her gift from her Oma and Opa was a piano. It comes with a microphone and she loved it! Maria got on that microphone and started saying, "oh, oh, oh". It was so funny! When she would open clothes she would just throw them on the ground. I guess those were not so interesting. Christmas Eve was a little different this year since Dorian and Shelley were out of town we did Christmas Eve at our house. It was very nice and relaxing. I'm thinking my mother-in-law may want to do it again at our house because she didn't have to do any clean-up. :) On Christmas morning we woke-up and did Christmas with Maria and Wesley just as our little family. Maria was very excited to open more presents. The hit from Christmas morning was her My Little Pony car. She had been asking for a car. We then spent the rest of Christmas with my family. Maria then opened even more presents. She was in overload by this point. Her favorite gift there was from her Nana and Papa. It was a princess carriage and she played with it and wasen't interested in opening any more gifts after that. She has been asking every morning about more presents. What a spoiled well-loved little girl! The day after Christmas we got 7 inches of snow. We went out in it for just a little bit. It was too cold to be out there to long with Wesley. Maria spent more time outside with Sebastian. She wanted to make a snowman and a snow angel. Wesley wasen't sure how he liked it. I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Wesley is 4 months!

Sorry I've not updated with pictures lately. Time seems to just be flying by. I can't believe my baby boy is 4 months old. He is weighing almost 16 pournds. He has been rolling over from his stomach to his back for about a month now. He can almost get from his back to his stomach but has not figured out where to put his arm. He is a very smily baby. He is starting to talk more and loves to look at Maria. The other day Maria was sitting by him and they had their own little conversation. We had a really nice Thanksgiving at Barbara and David's. It was nice having our 2 new additions. Wesley joined us at the table by sitting in the high chair. I gave him a spoon and he actually got it in his mouth the right way. That boy is ready to eat food already. This weekend we went over to my parents house and made Christmas cookies. We let Maria and Ethan make sugar cookies and then decorate them with icing. I think they ate more cookies and icing then not. Maria is very excited about Christmas. She keeps telling us that it is Jesus's Birthday. She also loves the Christmas tree. She calles candy canes "candy corns." We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Happy Birthday Maria!

We celebrated Maria's birthday this week. We went to the zoo and had a birthday party for Maria and her cousin Ethan. Maria had such a good time that she still thinks that it is her birthday. I can't believe my little girl is 2!

Meeting Aunt Christa

Wesley got to meet his Aunt Christa for the first time. Of course he slept through most of it but the rest of us enjoyed her visit. Maria was too busy coloring with Opa to notice anything different. One of her favorite things is to color but you have to color with her. Then before you know it you are coloring alone and she is off doing something else. Maria really enjoyed hanging out with Aunt Giesala. She would ask me almost every morning, "See Oma, Giesala, Babe?" Maria also loves her new cousin Annalise. She ask to see her all the time also. Another one of Maria's favorite thing to do is to clean with wipes She get's a wipe and washes the window, table, and floor.  Both the kid's are growing up so fast. I can't believe that Wesley is 2 months old and that Maria is about to be 2 years old. Maria is loving being a big sister. She makes sure that we have Wesley every where we go. She also loves to give him kisses. We took Maria to the fair this weekend. At first I was worried because she got upset over seeing a life size Cliffard the Big Red Dog. I guess it is okay seeing him on TV but not in person. But after getting to eat french fries and ride the carosel she was sold.  The picture of Maria covered in yogurt was my birthday present from her. On my birthday I ran upstairs to get her some clothes and came back down and she had taken a bath in yogurt.

October 2010

We spent the day at a Hill Ridge Farm. Maria had such a good time. She loved playing in the hay and seeing the bunnies and goats. Her favorite thing was riding the pony. When the pony started going she started yelling..."HOLD ON, HOLD ON!" Wesley is doing great. He is growing so fast. I can't believe he is almost 2 months old.

Wesley is here!

Wesley is here!

A week ago today I woke up at 7am having contractions. Of course I wanted to make sure I was really in labor before I went to the hospital. So around 3:30pm Sebastian finally made me call the doctor. When we got to the hospital around 4pm I was having contractions 2-3 mins apart. The doctor decided I was in labor and we did the c-section early. Wesley Sebastian Dehnel was born on August 15th at 7:45 pm. He weighed 7lbs 15oz and was 21 3/4 inches long. He has a head full of hair and had been a very content baby so far. I had some complications after my c-section. The day after we went home I had a blood vessel burst in my abdomen which caused my wound to fill with blood. That then caused my incision to completely open. I had to go back to the operating room to re-close the incision. I will have staples in for a week. I'm still having pain but that is getting better. I've been very grateful for my mom and my mother-in-law for their help taking care of Maria. I'm unable to care for her because I can't do any lifting. She is adjusting very well. She likes to look at Wesley but most of the time ignores him. Here are the pictures I know you have been waiting for...

Maria has been asking daddy for a bike for a few weeks. Last Saturday daddy finally gave in and bought her a bike. When Sebastian was putting the bike together Maria was by his side the whole time saying, "my daddy." Everytime someone comes over to our house she has to pull our her bike to show them. Maria also loves to color. Color anything she can....herself, the carpet or the walls. My big girl also can now sing her "ABCs" She is growing up so fast! I'm hoping to have video of her singing soon. Everytime I pull out the camera she stops singing and wants the camera. Only 25 days until Wesley is here. I can't wait to share pictures of our son!
